Conduct Self-Observations
To conduct a self-observation, it is best that you prepare by using the observation training feature, that allows you to familiarize yourself with the look-fors and accompanying rubric and exemplary video. However, you can also do this while doing a self-observation by clicking on the appropriate link on the observation form.
To complete the self-observation, reflect on your teaching, consider each look-for on the observation form, and
- Indicate what you believe your performance level to be by clicking on the appropriate radio button for the proper score level (if observing with scoring)
- Check off the evidences you feel represent your performance by checking the appropriate items listed under "Evidence".
- Record additional comments regarding your performance by placing those comments into the Comments text box.
- Scan an artifact or make an audio or video recording or take a pictures, if you have the appropriate hardware. After any of these items to your computer, you can click the Browse button in the attachment area to browse for and upload your attachment to the observation form.
- Add additional comments in the Feedback text box.
- Click Save Draft if you are not finished with the observation and want to continue it at a later date. If you are finished, click Finish.
